IDM - Bulk Download Manager Extension is a browser extension that finds the files on a page and downloads the ones you choose. In short: it collects no personal data, and nothing you download is sent to us or anyone else.

Effective date: November 5, 2026

The short version

  • We don't collect, store, sell or share any personal data.
  • No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no remote code in the extension.
  • Files and previews come straight from the sites you use. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Your settings, a random install id and a download count are kept only in your browser.

1. Information we collect

None. IDM - Bulk Download Manager Extension does not collect personal information. It does not send us the pages you visit, the files you download, your settings, its install id, its download count or anything else. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising, and we have no servers that the extension talks to.

2. What the extension reads on pages

The extension's file finder is part of its package and is loaded on every page you open and in that page's frames, which the browser allows through the access to all sites listed below. It does nothing until you open the popup. Then it looks through the page and its frames for files: images, videos, audio, documents and archives, together with their address, name, type and size where available. This list is built on your device, shown to you, and used only to download the files you pick. It is not saved after you close the popup and is never sent anywhere.

3. Network requests

The extension makes no network requests of its own except these, all straight to the sites the files come from:

  • Previews: while the popup is open, it shows image thumbnails, video posters and the first frame of videos. To do that it loads those images, and the start of each video, from the site they belong to, the same way the page itself loads them.
  • Normal downloads are handed to your browser's own download manager, which fetches each file from the website it comes from, just like when you click a download link.
  • ZIP downloads: the extension fetches each selected file from its original website, using your browser's own cookies for that site so files behind a login keep working, then builds the ZIP on your computer and saves it. The files and the ZIP are never uploaded.

There are no calls to our servers (we have none), no third-party services and no remote code. Everything the extension runs is included in its package. Pages on this website and our feedback form open only when you click a link to them, or when you remove the extension (see below).

4. Data stored in your browser

The extension keeps the following in your browser's local extension storage:

  • Settings: the download folder pattern, the ZIP file name, Save As and duplicate options, the minimum image size, the toolbar count and your light, dark or system theme. Its own pages also keep a copy of the theme choice in their local storage so they open in the right colours.
  • Install id and install time: a random 13-character id and the time it was created, made once when the extension is installed or updated. They identify nothing about you, are never sent anywhere, and are used only on your device, for example to know when a week has passed for the review prompt.
  • Download count: the number of files downloaded with the extension, their total size and the date counting started, plus the ids of its downloads still in progress until they end. It is shown at the bottom of the Downloads tab.
  • Review prompt: whether you gave 5 stars, how many times the rating card was shown and when it may show again. Picking a star opens the Chrome Web Store reviews page (5 stars) or our feedback form (1 to 4 stars) in a new tab; nothing is sent by the extension itself.

This data stays on your computer and never reaches us. It is not synced to other devices. Resetting the settings puts the settings back to their defaults and keeps the rest.

5. When you remove the extension

When you remove the extension, your browser opens our feedback page (/uninstall on this website). The extension itself sends nothing. The page has an optional feedback form hosted by Google Forms; it is only filled in and sent if you choose to do so, and what you write there is covered by Google's privacy policy as well. You can simply close the page. The same optional form opens if you rate the extension 1 to 4 stars in the popup.

6. Browser permissions

The extension asks only for these permissions:

  • downloads: start downloads and pause, resume, retry, cancel, show or delete them in the Downloads tab, and count the ones it started.
  • activeTab: work with the tab you are looking at when you click the extension icon.
  • alarms: refresh download progress and the toolbar count every 30 seconds while downloads are running.
  • storage: keep the settings, install id and time, download count and review prompt state described above, locally in your browser.
  • scripting: run the file finder in a tab where it isn't loaded yet, such as a tab opened before you installed the extension, when you open the popup.
  • Access to all sites (<all_urls>): load the file finder on pages and their frames, show previews from the sites the files come from, and fetch the files you chose for a ZIP.

7. This website

This website has no analytics, no ads and no cookies. Your theme choice on this site is saved in your browser's local storage, only to show the site the way you picked. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

8. Your choices and deleting data

  • Change your settings at any time in the extension's settings, or reset them under About.
  • Remove the extension from your browser's extensions page. This deletes the data it stored in that browser profile. Files you downloaded stay on your computer.

9. Children

The extension doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children, and can be used by people of all ages.

10. Changes to this policy

If the way the extension handles data changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. We'll never start collecting personal data without saying so here first.
